Stéphanie's story, from Solki to Villa Rose

Behind every house there is a story. Villa Rose's begins on the island of Sant'Antioco, in the garden of a grandmother who grew the most beautiful roses in the world.

The Villa Rose garden

A childhood on the island

Stéphanie was born in Sant'Antioco, the island of her childhood. She went to school in "Solki", the ancient Phoenician name of Sant'Antioco and the oldest town in Italy, founded around 770 BC. As a teenager, she discovered the joys of the sea in Calasetta, the little town with blue-and-white facades inherited from the Tabarkins.

Based near Paris for over ten years for her career, she spends her free time exploring Italy and Europe. An epicurean at heart, gastronomy and pastry-making are her greatest passions: spaghetti alle vongole, Sardinian-style aubergines, fregola, pardule, and the essential tiramisù.

Her grandmother's roses

The villa's orchard and vegetable garden recall the long carefree hours spent in her grandparents' garden: the sweet grapes of "sa pregua" eaten straight from the vine, the spring medlars that announced the end of the school year. And if the house is called Villa Rose, it is because Stéphanie planted rose bushes there in tribute to her grandmother, whose great magenta-velvet roses remain, for her, the most beautiful in the world.

A house restored with values

In restoring this house nestled by Spiaggia Grande, a stone's throw from Le Saline beach, her dearest wish was to create a true cocoon of comfort for families and groups of friends. Every material tells a fragment of Sardinia: the biancone di Orosei stone lining the paths, the majestic chestnut beams, and the summer kitchen's pizza oven, made in Palermo by one of the last Italian artisans to master the traditional working of raw materials.

The project is driven by simple values: sustainability, with an artesian well, photovoltaic panels and refilled rather than discarded household products; excellence, with "Made in Italy" and "Made in France" craftsmanship; and service, embodied on site by Carlo and Jocelyne, who look after the property and after you every day.

"I hope with all my heart that the passion that brings this place to life will let you fully enjoy Villa Rose. A presto!" Stéphanie
